The Alda District - Concept Illustration

This piece is a celebration. Simply of the progress I've made this year, despite everything it's thrown at me. So the best way to represent it, is with the presence of my dragon mascot, Dragoel. It was initially meant to be a simple illustration but when I had the opportunity to feature it in my 3rd year Game Design submission, I thought I might as well go all out and create a piece of concept art. I used photo bashing and classic digital painting to bring this piece together, starting with thumbnails and a vivid description of the environment. As an Easter egg, this location is in fact featured within Elph. Do you know the story behind the city under the Alda mountains?
