Sonic The Hedgehog 3 Fan Art - 'Chasing Shadows'

Inspired by Sonic The Hedgehog 3 and Sonic X Shadow Generations, I wanted to get a nice in-between of the game versions and movie versions of the character. I used an in-game cutscene from the Shadow Generations campaign as a reference and screencaps from the previous movies to get the character's visual effects and proportions right.
I haven't seen the third film yet but I haven't been this excited for Sonic in such a long time. It really has been the Year of Shadow.
I'm glad this got me to do my first big key art in a while.
